Helmet radio ear defenders.

Recommended Posts

Hiya

Which are a good pair of radio ear defenders that clip on to helmets? I've heard the peltor ones have real bad reception?

Thanks for any input.

I use the husqvarna ones in rural Northumberland and I get good reception :-)

Thanks for that. Do you find the defenders themselves acceptable?

Yes, as comfortable as normal ear defenders, only used with a chainsaw so not sure how good they are if used with a chipper etc, they're simple to use with gloves on, one button for the 4 volume levels, hold it in to switch on/off, two other buttons to cycle through fm to find channels

If you can find a set of the old style husky ones, (they do still surface from time to time) then they are leagues ahead of the newer style ones. I didn't get on with the new ones at all - they were a lot heavier and would swing on the hangers if they were just popped off your ears and they didn't seal to my head as well as the old ones either. As a radio though, they did work well enough.
