Most ive seen are just powered off the tractors hydraulics.

 

What flow rate do they need to work well?

 

Obvioursly the more the better but what would minimum requirement be?

More the better isn't always the case. Too much flow or pressure is a bad thing.

 

Pressure gives strength and flow gives speed. Too much of either or both will cause problems

The small Mowi cranes need very low flow rates. Our little compact runs this one with flow to spare Mowi - 650

 

Even the Mowi P400 crane with 6.2M reach only needs 25-30 litres per min.

That may be so but whats minimum requirements?

 

Im not talking modern tractors with 140lpm etc

 

But 25 or 45 lpm probs 2000psi?

 

The easy way is to find a crane you like and check the data sheet, most manufacturers have them on line
