does anyone know the width of the cocoon?

tried the art site and pdf manual but no luck.

going to make my own rope guide and need to see if it will fit through a ring i have.

from what i can remember, its about an 1-1.5 inches wide and 2-2.5 inches long.. not got one myself but i know a lad who does, fits 11-15mm rope i think, but not 100% sure..

Just get a large spliced eye'd instead of a ring which means you can put it in/retrieve it from tight crutches (see drewb's thread/pic)

 

And cocoons are awesome! :thumbup1::thumbup1:

yes, i was thinking of that. i want to do it for the least amount of money possible - i have everything else apart from the cocoon and sling. i will try the ring and if its crap then i'll go with the large eye....

soft eye works heaps better than the ring alex. i think the other ART pulley is cheaper than the cocoon too but the cocoon is a damn fine pulley!

Rings get stuck to much compared to a large eye,also it a ring needs to be llarger than the large ring off a standard cam saver.and slings r cheap as

yours is working sweet then bro? didi ya do the funnel thing?

 

funnel ha! kinda,more like **** loads of electrical tape,yeh sort of,it doesnt take much for the cocoon to snag on the rope
