JCB insurance dept loose the plot

I did an online insurance quote for the processor.

They phoned me to confirm the details but to also tell me that it would not be covered for fire.

The reason?

Because it will be near the fire, then because it was near the fire wood.

I tried to explain it was just cutting & splitting wood & was in effect no different to a table say or hydraulic splitter, plus being near tyhe firewood was the same as being near sawn wood or building lumber. However as it had the word fire in the name is was some how far more risky.

Way to go JCB for talking yourself out of selling a policy.

sounds like my home insurance.

Wouldnt cover any out buildings ( sheds) because i have a petrol lawn mower.

Petrol= instant incineration of everything on my property.

And once its mentioned doesnt matter what u say they will not listen.

Computer doesnt allow for any common sense.

The other thing I found strange was that they wanted 3 times what is costs to insure my car that is worth double & can inflict damage to other cars & people with possible payouts of 100+ times what the processor would cost in a 100% payout which would be the max payout.

My home insurance suddenly rocketed when they realized I live near a river . I explained that it was a " winterborne " and dries up every summer but they were having non of it . Went else ware in the end .

We had one do that at the last house as we were about 50m from it.

We were also 100m higher than it.

I sent them a pic of the country if the water level rose by 99m & asked them if they would be worried about my claim if it was to rise another 1m?

Well I say country as it was lots of islands.
