Laburnum as firewood ???

I have read this ... and also read that poplar is rubbish but in practice burns well ... I have also seen adverts for firewood saying that it includes Laburnum as a selling point ... very confusing:confused1:

Pine burns well too! Poplar is rubbish firewood down there with willow for BTU's. Kindling, great and if it has any saving grace at all at least it coals fairly well.

I wouldn't use it if it were cut, delivered and stacked for free, unless I was infirm and broke.

Laburnum well dried in a stove will burn well.

I wouldn't burn it in an open fire for peace of mind.

Poplar is great . Must keep it dry as it is like blotting paper when in contact with damp . Burnt loads last winter on my stove . One guy on here boiled his central heating with poplar .....:001_smile:
