  1. Poplar is rubbish firewood, almost not worth the bother unless you have years to season it somewhere dry and don't mind that its calorific value isn't worth the thought and heatless toboot. Kindling at best, after years of seasoning.
  2. Thank you so much for your time.
  3. I looked on Treebay and am disgusted by the lack of moderation and, not all, but some distinctly moronic and vile responses to reasonable requests for information. Arbtalk is a breath of fresh air in comparison where people want to have a community of helpfulness. Congratulations on a great site.
  4. Hello, I am still using my departed dad's Husky 51, and have been for some years now . It is the 1990-91 version, so not so much info available, I have ome good oem diagrams for parts etc. Recently less oil seems to spray against the wall as I check it. There's nothing wrong with the gearing, I have flushed the tank, and cleaned where I think is necessary and had the oiler out for inspection. Can anyone tell me if this model uses a suction hose part 503101601 or is this for the later 51 1991 onwards? My diagrams show the different clutch assemblies for the 51's side by side including one suction hose and it is a bit confusing, or I am confused by it. I have some experience with this saw and am loathe to give up on a perfectly good piece of equipment that has provided warmth for years. Husqvarna themselves don't have tech' advice in my neck of the woods. Thanks in advance to anyone who has any suggestions. I don't know if I am allowed this link to the diagram but here goes. OEM Parts
  5. Pine burns well too! Poplar is rubbish firewood down there with willow for BTU's. Kindling, great and if it has any saving grace at all at least it coals fairly well. I wouldn't use it if it were cut, delivered and stacked for free, unless I was infirm and broke. Laburnum well dried in a stove will burn well. I wouldn't burn it in an open fire for peace of mind.
