Rio Olympics

Mike, try and get over yourself. I really do not care about any athlete from any country willing to lie and loose all of his endorsements in the process. I would have stripped him of his medals as well, not my call. He only embarrassed him self and is now gainfully unemployed. I remain more concerned about the short and long term exposure of the athletes and visitors now returning to their homelands. It will take several months before the first cases of the Zika Virus are found and confirmed to have originated by contact due to the 2016 Olympics. Did you attend the 96 Games in Atlanta or just think mentioning that particular Olympics has anything to do with my post?

Of course it was to do with your post, I took umbrage at you saying how bad the Rio olympics were before they'd even started.

I just thought I'd remind you.

I mentioned Atlanta because by common consent it was poorly organised., and ill conceived, a bit like Rio was according to you.

Before every Olympics there are naysayers, for Beijing it was pollution, London it was terrorism or general incompetence.

That's ok mike. You really don't understand the difference between a poorly organized sporting event and the prevention of a micro pandemic that can and will now spread thanks to money, greed and politics. Were any of the games you mentioned facing similar medical concerns, other than pollution in Beijing which everyone knew about in advance and was also the reason that all major industries were shut down for a period of at least 4 month in order to clean the breathable air for the event. Try to stay focused, I am not concerned about how well or not the Olympics are organized.

Well I think Tokyo will be bloomin marvelous, unless they have an earthquake, typhoon or godzilla attack:001_tt2:

I believe Japan has hired Lloyds of London to cover the entire event, offering

double indemnity clause in the event Godzilla or Mothra decide to make an appearance.
