nice simple site - but i think there is a typo "as it will not seasoned enough to burn efficiently."

i think the hosting charge is a bit steep - i built a little site for my dad (not that he has ever seen it) and the domain name and hosting is only $35 per year

Looks good and good value for £250 . I paid 250 for this as well a few years ago Advance Generators - Established in 1992 and based in Andover, central southern England, we can supply and maintain standby generators from 6 to 2000kVA

Your bags only work out £10 more than your single load, alot of work in nets. Homebase are selling beech hard wood logs 7 in each bag £6.76 ea

Ton bags that measure 800x800x800 only hold .55 cu so you could use that to your advantage. I have been charging £80 per cube £145 2cu was thinking of putting up in the winter.

I have made the 1.5 m3 loads better value as i have got all my wood in this size load. so its easier to load and go with less hassle having to take logs out before i go. as for price i think that is about the going rate in my area

To increase you visibility free. Put free listings on yell and places like google or local sites but be warned the call centre bunneys will ring you all day long.

Not too worried about getting on goggle 1st page, i have a lot a ads locally and this will get people looking at it and hopefully then buying. Dont really want call centres phoning all day long.

I had a cabstar with tool box and load area was 1.5 cu metre. Worked in our favour because different size load to everyone else and we were £98. Most people could not be bothered to work it out. Should work in your favour. I will try and get a pick of our 1cu metre truck runs on lpg should do about 60 mpg.

A friend does web designing so he only charged me £250.00 with web hosting, dont know if that is cheap but sounded ok to me.

I must be missing something here, how did you work out how much of that £250 was hosting and how much was the design?

good site, straight to the point, nice and clear.

well done, you should do well

on a personal note, i would not give away so much kindling, but sell it at a reduced price. (work out how much money you could be losing by giving it away)

and free delivery on orders over £100 ( would encourage customers to top up their order with extra kindling)

free delivery within 15 miles is generous imo, i would drop it down to 10 or just not advertise it and go with what said above.

all this is my own opinion and in no way does it mean you are doing anything wrong, quite the oposite,. I started off the same, being very generous with everything, but it soon came round to bite me in the bum when i worked out the losses involved.

Not any more, you can't. EU crap, I believe.

You can get some water based stuff.

Ray Mears showed how to make it on one of his programs, put green sticks in a tin, heat the tin in a fire, hay pesto "creosote" :001_smile:

was that not pine he used to produce pine pitch, which was the extracted resin, which was then used to coat and preserve a set of tradional wooden skis in sweden:001_smile:

he may have done it on 2 different programs though:blushing::confused1:

Couple of typos, '...as it will not seasoned enough to burn efficiently.'

Other than that, top marks.:thumbup1: As above, 15miles seems a little generous for free delivery, I stick to 10 unless ordering a double load. Work out yer time and diesel costs (+ free kindling) and see if its cost effective to go on a 30 mile round trip with 1 m3. I doubt it.

If yer products good then it will sell itself, word of mouth is the best form of advertising so after a while you may not need to travel so far afield - just saturate your local area.

Good luck!

Not always the fault of the E.U., very often our own dear governments over-interpretation of the rules, though our press never misses an opportunity to put the boot in to Europe - far easier to do that than have to bother with mundane things like 'facts'.:001_rolleyes:

Why do I get the impression with Ray Mears that every time the director shouts ''CUT'',he instantly grabs a Mars bar or dives into a bargain bucket of K.F.C?

For a supposed 'survivalist' hes a fat 'lil f*cker isn't he ? I know if I was ever in a survival situation, he'd be the first one id eat.
