Talk to your loler inspector. If they wont loler hand splices find one that will. Make sure you keep records and mark the pieces you splice, date of first use, batch number of the cordage ect. Record what type of splice you have used, and make sure it is the correct one for the cordage, and that your buries are the correct length ect. Cant really go wrong then!

 

You may wish to break test a few for your own satisfaction.

shame with splicing is it,s a bit dodgy splicing for other folk

so end up running out of things to make

second one down is what i now use as tool strops

but how many double spliced tool strops can a man make

i know what ya mean bro but its all good practice! and all my saw lanyards are spliced now, pole pruner cord etc.... at least in NZ you dont have to worry about splicing for others as the regs are way different.

If your bored try the Samson DPX-75/Turbo-75 splice- its a double braid splice witha difference!!!!!!!!!

Nope! what gets me is how someone worked it out in the first place. ill stick to normal double braid, 16 strand and kernmantle for now.

Nice snake collection Bob, splicing for other people? oops, I would never do that!

 

What are the rules anyway, not allowed at all, not allowed to sell, allowed for personal use, only certificated approved splicing allowed?
