We took down a couple of big trees yesterday including a big ash tree, the top half was more rotted than we expected, but the bottom half was good and will hopefully make some good logs. The trees were in a friends field with nothing around them so they were dropped in one piece to the ground.

we used our vintage tractors to cart the logs and handle the bigger pieces

i wanted to take some more pics but never got chance

that is our david brown 880, handling one of the bigger pieces, made it alot easier to cut up when it was off the floor.

another pic of our db with my dad on it, that piece of ash was a fair weight but the db lifted it with ease, i was very surprised.

yeah, we are really pleased with the david brown,i thought the back end would come up when we lifted the big piece of ash but it didnt, ive got to get a rad guard for it because if we keep lifting big pieces up like that the bonnet is going to be full of dents with the trunks swinging around. The david b just needs a few more pieces to finish it off, it makes light work of powering our mc connel sawbench and the loader is really powerful so were chuffed with it.
