I'm a "hobby" forester, at the moment I'm clearing bracken from areas where I've planted trees.

 

I can't help you with rates, however tips I've learned are:

 

1. Pulling the bracken up can be easier than cutting. When you cut long bracken you sometimes tend to hack the same bracken into pieces.

 

2. When you are looking for the next tree stick your head down about 4 feet above ground level where the bracken is just stems.

Don't pull bracken using a bare hand - always use heavy gloves. . The stems have long fibres that can cut you very badly as most young country boys know from bitter experience.

Did you come to any conclusion ninja strike. I've rolled it flat it hates it. Not every site will allow it.

We have started the weeding the area, Its basicly impossible to price it unless doing man days, How longs a piece of string type of situation.

 

More men the better as you feel like you achieve nothing in a day.
