Milled my first trunk today. nice chunk of ash.

What do i do now? heard you paint the ends...what with?

How do i stack the timber? how long to dry.

the ash had lovely dark thick lines running up it..very happy with the timber...so i want to get it right when drying it out.

Cheers

PVA wood glue, melted wax,or a gloss paint will do,stack it under cover with thin battons acting as spacers between the boards, running across the grain at every couple of feet, let it dry. open sided cover is good, but you want no rain getting on them, and an airflow.keep em out of the sun, especialy in summer.
