Akimbo

I'm hoping I might be able to get old stuff as a replacement. I do like the old stuff. Not so good in the wet. But I like blue more than orange so hoping to get the same again.

I managed to get my rope replaced pretty quickly with more of the old stuff. Nod sorted that out really well and I just sent it straight back to uk supplier and replaced straight back to me. 👍🏻😀

 

As for the Akimbo, mines been great and definitely got better as the anodising wore off and it shined up. Sterling Htp is brilliant, Cougar blue (non CE) is pretty good and cougar orange(non CE) is pretty OK.

Blue Tongue is awful and too thick and Velociy was just horrible!

 

I had a play on a Rope Runner for a few weeks whilst someone had a go with my Akimbo and I really liked it. Felt very smooth to get going and liked it a lot. But I was very happy to swap back to the Akimbo!

How are folks getting on with there's ? considering ebaying mine as I've not used it in a while , basically all my ropes have conifer sap on now and although the device is great no sit back and tends well it really does not like sap! Unfortunately living in keilder forest spruce and pine are bread and butter! Shame as it's a real nice climb on reductions and felling broad leaves.

Mostly been climbing on the RR.

 

The Akimbo is great one day and then absolutely gash the next.  I got it working great on the HTP but then for no reason couldn't hold my weight.

 

it also doesn't like dirty or wet ropes.
