Your son needs to ask himself what path he wants to follow, another jobbing Gardner (there are loads )or run a business? There are plenty of diffrance! Also remember a cleaner charges 10 an hour and supplies v little if anything, you son providing tools, insurance, transport at 12 pound an hour is a sure way too signing on!

Thats about right for a man and kit doing grounds maintenance. Should be more but there's too many one man band gardeners working for nowt.........come full circle !

TBH if they want an hourly rate then you know they will be clock watching and a pain, or the job to small that it needs a rate like that. Or just price the job.
