Evening all, I'm considering a new TW125. Probably been asked before but can I have some opinions on these machines. I currently use a Entec ch35 but its getting a bit old in the tooth:001_smile:. My business is only small and I cant justify a new TW230, without finance etc. Thanks

They look decent, my dad has an old entec version and runs well if a little slow for my liking (used to diesel ones). The only question I'd ask is are they gonna give it a facelift/redesign to bring it in line with the 230? Seeing how the 125 is basically a petrol 150 it would make sense if the 125 used the same platform

A mate uses one with the double roller, it's a great machine but quite slow compared to a 150. What it lacks in speed though it makes up for by being so light and easy to push around.

I used one for a while. Really easy to tow and handle manually. Found blades changes a bit of a faff, all just a bit cramped but might just be me. Performed well.

You have to do your sums on fuel consumption though. I found on a busy day we'd use about 15 litres of unleaded. Do this 5 days a week, most of the year and your fuel bill gets a little scary. A diesel 150 might see you £1500 a year better off, which could be the extra finance on the machine.

Good point on the fuel the stats are 4 liters an hour, which is thirsty. My entec use 10 litres max during a long day chipping.

Don't think I ever experienced it using 4 litres an hour but after 6 hours of full revs, fairly continously feeding you'd be running on fumes (so about 3 litres an hour). Over a year of daily use you'd be looking at about 4500 litres. Obviously a larger diesel machine will use more fuel but obviously unleaded is more than double red currently.

Been looking at used 150's but they hold good money, and its a risk with any used machine. The 125's are in reach for me as a new machine, but I've always used diesel power so I'm not 100% on the 125.
