Why?

 

Seems odd to not fit tyres that can do the legal UK limit of 60 mph for trailers.

 

Fitting F rated tyres to a combination that can exceed their rating sounds very very iffy & possibly has insurance & licencing implications. It def has C&U implications.

 

Tyres are rated for the speed the vehicle can go (or all car would only have L rated 75mph tyres fitted). With allowance for its performance re acceleration, cornering & braking at it load limits.

 

 

 

Has someone mis read the 80 load index on the tyre (for weights up to 450kg each)?

I am going to guess its because that's how it comes into the UK, many "EU" trailers are speed restricted.
