Hard Working

That's a very good point.

It's a good idea to point to a shrub under a tree before a removal and ask "is that hydrangea/maple/forsythia precious?" Very often they'll say "not really"

And life becomes a lot easier.

If they say that they're recently deceased granny planted it the day the client was born......well, at least you know.

If it's precious and is going to be a pain it's best to annihilate it with the first beach where possible. Makes the rest of the job easier.

Let's face it, you could spend twice the time rigging the lot down only to flatten it at the end with the final chog anyway.

I always tell the customers, that I will make the unhandy stump handy for them by doing a big mess. They agree, because after it's grinded, they can deal with it, what they couldn't before I was there.

Every homeowner has a rake and a shovel. I charge extra for cleanup, so why pay more when it can be cheaper... Cleanup takes longer than grinding and is paid not as good.

Only lonely grandmas get their lawn raked for free.

If they got a husband he usually stands armed beside me, unpatient to finally have something to do instead of being a good hubby on the couch.

Regards

When working in domestic gardens, doing whatever you're up to, it's always the 'finish' that your work is judged on. Leave hedge clippings everywhere, or twigs all over the lawn, or stones and clods on the grass after stumping, and you'll seldom get asked back. Leave it clean and tidy for them to look at long after you've gone, and they may just invite you back to take some more money off them next year.

Totally agree and have had plenty of repeat custom by putting the added effort in.
