magnum stihl. . . whats it all about?

Evening all I own a stihl ms640 magnum among many other saws and am wondering what the difference is between a normal 640 and a magnum one. I have heard that there supposed to be a bit more powerful but by how much and in what way? As the 640 seems to be kind of rare would be interested if anyone could shed some light on it.

The 038 was a good tool.................back in the day, left behind in modern power to weight standards
