Husqvarna guide bar oil hole?

Bought a new Husqvarna 395 with a 28"bar last November, not used much of it yet. But wasn't happy with the amount of oil on the chain, even at the max setting. Investigating the problem today, pump on the saw is fine, 20" oregon bar and the oil flew off the end of the chain.The Husqvarna bar has such a tiny diameter oil hole ,drilled at an angle, so small that I believe it restrics the oil. anyone had a similar experience? tia John

The 28" bar is Oregon, they claim it is an oil jet hole and feeds the oil better onto the chain.

Thanks adw , feed? my chain is starving, was thinking of drilling a bigger hole . what should I do?

You can try drilling, but the steel is very hard, because the hole is at an angle the drill bit bites, good luck.

Use a Cobalt drill, they are damn good on hard steel!

You can get small Diamond burrs they will open out the bar oil hole

Or a carbide burr in a die grinder will open right up also.

Yes, and it isn't just Oregon that use that kind of oil hole, others have copied it.
