385 clutch cover casing ,

Hi Guys , recently got a 385 xp and have discovered the the clutch side cover is damaged , whoever had it previously repeatedly used excessive force to tighten the bar nuts or it got jammed in a big log or something which has cracked the casing and buckled it a bit which has over time worn the alloy away and the bar tensioner will only travel 2/3 of the way up due to the distortion , it still works ok but its irrititating me now , anyone have a decent casing they could sell me ? , its the same casing fitted to most of the bigger 3 series saws , 365/371/372/385 390 and the 570/575 , OEM part No is 537 00 40 with side adjuster

The 385 side cover is different to any of the others, and the part no. should be 537033502 no idea where your number came from.

hmm dunno , i took the one off my 2013 372 and it fits right on perfectly so i dont know what the differences are ? the part no i quoted is from the damaged cover , but it may be wrong as you say ,

I did search through the part numbers for the 385 xp and the number you quoted is indeed the correct one , but with the 372 xp cover on its fits pefectly and was no issue today with a full tank of Aspen through it blocking up some big pine , unless i can get a correct cover to see the difference, those covers i listed will do if anyone on here has one for sale ?

Sometimes a manufacturer will give a different part number to a component because they are fitting it to another model even though the part is identical to a different model . Not sure if this is the case here but maybe .

nice saw there , bit different to mine , high fliter cover, side exit ehaust , big felling dogs and full wrap :-)

Oh, it has the top exhaust, too That was my felling saw back in Oregon. She's seen a LOT of Douglas Fir.
