My ms 211 has a 16" bar and it copes with it very well, obviously keep the chain sweet. Stepped up to the rescue yesterday after finding a burried nail in the sycamore the 362 was felling (right at the end of the day, of course. But I think I'm going to drop down to 14" as it's actual purpose is only for snedding. Hope that helps

My first saw was a 435 great little saw so you won't be disappointed. I've used all day when the bigger saw hasn't wanted to play. Took a bit longer But it was still fun

Hi,

A friend of ours got a 435 recently & its a decent little saw, 40cc engine coped quite well on 16" but would rip on a shorter bar.

Yep your right there Nfg. The standard bar is too big. I haven't thought about changing the bar but now you come to mention it I wonder what it would be like on a twelve inch me thinks I'll have to find out

Hi,

Rob has some 12, 14 & 16" Sugi bars showing for the 435 at

Guide bars

might be worth considering

I have got a 440 on a 15" bar which is basically a 435. It is a nice little saw to use and I am happy with it. I'm now getting a 365 to go with it.

Good saw the 365xt, cut a lot with mine.

Thanks Nfg I think I'll have to get myself to the 12 inch sugi soon. I'll leave it a few weeks though as Rob must be developing RSI from writing my address lately

Cheers N. So the moral of the story is the 435 ain't a bad little saw

Well yes, my pal is perfectly happy with his & there are a few other positive posts here, its a case of horses for courses so if you dont expect too much of it then Im sure it would be fine, although the Dolmar 420 seems to be a very nice saw for the money.
