Re Sorry looking Laurel

Hi please could you lend your thoughts as to whats causing a Laurel shrub to look like this. Around 3/4 of the shrub is in this condition. It was cut back last year. Sorry theres no other pictures available.

Vine weevil maybe?

it bacterial shothole in other bacterial canker there also some vine weevil damage around the edge of leaf but it days are numbered

What can one do about vine weevils?

for adults go hunting at night or step some kind of trap for grubs chemical treatment to soil to be honest there not much to be done. we are own worst emery's as vine weevil love wood type soil (rich in leaf mold) and that soil we emulate in gardens.

Nematodes are about the only thing left that's legal now.

Ah yea that's a nasty looking laurel infestation you have there. Best course of treatment cut to ground level, stem inject with glyphosate
