I've had the fuel going through the carb put the fuel line on the carb had the metering cover off pressed down open metering lever and blew through tank and fuel came out of the carb?

So confusing me this

If your sure there is fuel at the carb and the L jet and H jet are clean then make sure there at the basic settings and then have a butchers at the Choke mechanism and the flap in the filter. It Must close fully ! . Go through the could start procedure and if no good check the top of the cylinder ..if dry you know your not getting fuel and concentrate on that.

PS...Unless the above post solves your issue…i posted this before seeing spuds post.

We are out to of sink on our posts Spud..didnt see yours before i posted

No issues, been PMed by the fella and after running through all the usual situations have got to the diaphragm and it sounds like someone has fitted the wrong diaphragm.

If the one with the shallow nipple is fitted, it won't contact the metering arm and no petrol in the metering section which is pretty much what I thought in the first place but assumed this machine just failed after standing and was a slightly hardened diaphragm or too low metering arm rather than a failure to understand how carbs work and fitting incorrect components.

Nearly there I think:thumbup:

Good O…Assumption can be ones downfall iv often found and its never easy to know what to take as a "Definite" when you don't know what has happened in the recent past!! History can be really helpful and has often saved yours truly a Wild Goose Chase on a few occasions

Totally agree and is just how info tends to come out in a piecemeal fashion and without the machine in front of you...............
