If you are darting your own goods for sale - firewood for example - are you tacho exempt?

If you meet all the requirements of the exemption.

IE is the drivers main job driving?

So cut & chop one load & deliver would be ok, have a team cutting & splitting with one man doing all the delivery would not.

Do you go over 100km from your main base?

What weight vehicle are you running?

Are you carrying other goods at the same time?

Also look out for O licence compliance.

Combinations over 3500kg can need it.

Little bit off subject from the OP...

I had a job once where i had tipped the wood chip, loaded up the cheery timber (maybe a level load up to the original sides), chipper in tow. In combe martin, took a wrong turn and ended up heading up a steep hill. I was in first with foot flat and she was singing! then she started to die!! just would not pull it! had to reverse all the way back down and go another way. I just never thought that a cabstar, being so low geared, would never make it up a hill in first!! Advanatge of the 300tdi you can drop it in to low box, like my hilux.
