This might be a challenge for the Axe experts.

 

Who was this Hatchet made for and when?

 

I researched the markings on it and came up with a bit of a supprise.

 

It is for hitting the tax man with on those non EU chainsaw shipments when they charge you VAT:thumbup:

Tread carefully, did you see the blood stain still on the front corner of spuds axe.

 

Now where does Vespasian hang out, got his card marked. That blood is hard to get off the hatchet, least I got paid........in the end:sneaky2::thumbup:

Its a Pioneer Hatchet that was issued to Wehrmacht Mortar Crews during the War.

 

That's quite something, I would be hanging on to that, fascinating ...:thumbup1:
