Chain making kit on ebay

Not often you see an actual bargain on ebay but this is a nice little package. Shame it's miles away in Surrey although they do say they will send it by pallet if you arrange the courier I can't be bothered messing about sorting out quotes for doing so.

 

Includes everything needed to make your own chains, bench, rivet spinner, chain breaker, part rolls of chain (mostly suited to Stihl chains), joining links, reel holder & a couple of bars.

Although I already have all that kit I would of bought it at their original buy now price of £150 (had there not been the delivery to sort out) as just the chain included should exceed that value but someone put a bid on it so the buy it now option has gone & it will probably end up going even cheaper.

I suspect it will go for a bit more than £150, bidders get silly and chainsaw stuff sells for a lot more than many of us think it should.

 

There was a thread on here recently about that.

I sold an old Husky 298 which I couldn't start, it went for just over £300!

It's worth more but collection only stuff often goes for a pittance & arranging couriers yourself rather than the seller arranging it can be a real PITA which is the only reason I didn't buy it when the buy it now price was still available.

I'm inclined to agree about the charges but if the 'must get it at all cost' merchants frequent the dreaded 'bay then why not ?

 

Why should anyone sell something for a penny less than they could get for it?

 

I contacted the seller whan there had been one bid at 99p to see if he would still do a buy it now (Yes, it would have been worth £150 to me) but he wanted to let it run. Good call on his part in the end. Mind you, it might be up again next week with a message about NO MESSERS.
