Up here (Norway) Echo saws are too close in price to Husky and Stihl saws to be of any interest - but this will vary with where you are.

Chainsaw pricing isn't always logic....

Is there actually an importer for Echo saws in Norway? the only Scandanavian importers I found were in Denmark and Finland. Clicking on Norway or Sweden takes you to the Danish importer.

A local Echo dealer quoted me £520 the other day when I enquired out of interest when I was passing. he checked stock at the importers and could have had it for me the next day.

I only enquired as I already have one waiting on my regular dealers bench at a better price for the body only, which this dealer wouldn't quote for!

As far as comparisons are concerned, IMHO the Echo will still be going long after either of the other brands. Two Stihl 261's new back in April were scrap within 3 months. Replaced with Echo 450's (as 501's weren't available then) and not a single problem with them since.

A thought. Perhaps Echo haven't shouted about it as they don't want the same problem they had with the CS390esx last year, where they sold the whole initial batch within days and couldn't get more fast enough! ;)
