Winch Trick

This is just a little trick we use for getting heavy pieces of timber up steep slopes.

 

Its a basic A frame which helps keep the winch rope from digging in to the ground as you winch the pieces up the slope over the top.

 

Its just a choked sling with pulley and a tie strap attached to a heavy log to stop the A frame falling forward.

neat idea. we have used a tree over a path before with the mog winch on a ratchet to act as a cable yarder.

Yeah, done that many times as well, but there where no trees at the top of the embankment. Its always satisfying coming up with these little problem solvers. Makes work enjoyable in a Fred Dibnah way.
