Camon stump grinder cuts out

Hi, the camon stump grinder at work cuts out after about 30 -60 secs of full revs.. I cleaned the carb, which was a bit dirty, but the problem still persists. The spark plug is fine and petrol tank cleaned. Tubes seem to be clear. I've ordered a new throttle return spring and governor spring to try that as the throttle return looks a bit bent. Also should mention the lads had been using 2 stroke mix in it instead of neat petrol. God knows how long for, probably ages, but could this have any long term effects? Also, when I went to check the oil, it just poured out.. Is there too much oil in it? Surely it shouldn't just pour out when you unscrew the dipstick. Any help much appreciated, Matt

is it a honda engine disconnect the kill switch wiring for a kick off take the bottom off the filter bowl and make sure petrol runs thru up inside the carb where the screw that holds the filter bowl on goes into take out the main jet and emulsion tube make sure they are spotless try that lot for a kick off and see what happens is it cutting out under load or no load?

Hi. I have a honda powered garden shredder that used to run fine for maybe 5mins but would then cut out . Once this happened I could get it to start and run with various amounts of choke but never for more than a minute, - used to drive me hairless. Any after numerous stripdowns of carb I noticed the cracked exhaust protection shield would warp and twist to a point where it actually touched and earthed out the plug lead, killing the engine. Now its removed and thrown away engine runs as it should every time.

I'd be checking and replacing the float valve though if the sump level is rising.

bought a cammon rotovator the other year, ran for 10mins then cut out, re start same again!! drove me mad.

eventually discovered the new petrol cap fitted by previous owner didnt have a vent!

to check this run with cap off and see

Hi had a similar situation in a different application.

I had just dirt in the carb/tank had to the carb bowl several times, it always ran a short time after this -> removed the jet -> clogged with a tiny woodchip -> cleant it -> done.
