Jim stay away from that machine, my mate bought it, there's all kinds wrong with it. Complete dog, luckily the dealer was straight enough to send it back.

If your after a cheaper one a local dealer to me has this for sale

Used Plant Machinery, Used Excavators, Construction Machinery, Excavator Sales - CPM Plant Sales

I have seen it cause I bought a 3 tonner off him not so long ago but didn't take much notice of it tbh. But Charles is a true gentleman and I'd trust him 100%.

If you like the look of it I can go and give it a going over for you.

Kubota KX151 Mini midi digger excavator 5 ton | eBay

Would something like this be too old to be serviceable? Would parts still be easy to come by?

Obviously lots to look at, but watch the steel undercarriage, as this will get expensive quickly if its just ending its service life.

A Kx161-3 will cost more, but still a fantastic machine all round and will sell on easily if its not for you.

I depends what you're doing really?

Another dealer to look at is Clements Plant who get a fair turnover in the size you're looking at, or Proctor Plant too.

Thanks for the heads up. There's another 151 on eBay similar but looks a bit tidier. Digger Excavator Kubota 5T | eBay

Yes have seen quite a few clements stuff on plant trader

Apart from the obvious digging, i'm looking for something which will lift a tonne. That's why i'm looking between 4.5-6t I dare say you're more likely not to buy problems if your spending upwards of 10k. I just got looking for kubota and came across these two similar priced machines.

We have an old 6 ton Kubota relegated to fires and general yard use, they have good lift / reach and two speed tracking but are a bit slow by todays standards to use on jobs.

Will lift a ton plus with ease.
