Just seen the weather in Lancashire and Cumbria looks a nightmare

£100,000s were spent on flood plains and defences along the Calder Valley over the last ten years. Don't look like much of an improvement though

Probably about the only long term solution. But we've had so much rain over last few weeks the grounds waterlogged with standing water which can't hold any more

Those big old oaks must draw up a phenomenal amount of water.... and if the Lake District hills were covered in big oaks, like it should be, instead of sheep.

 

Apart from the sun ever expanding we humans tend to bring these problems upon ourselves.
