  2. Another couple of go's I've included a pic of a similar piece of wood that i've turned Still only small though
  3. I think i'm confusing things here The one above is what i think is hawthorn As it is out of a log pile, and you say it's cherry then it's cherry:biggrin:
  4. It's a bit of 100+ year old floor joist Here's the other one patched up with some maple flooring It's only 7"x4"
  5. Cheers Steve It was better than the bit of hawthorn (i think it was hawthorn) From my brothers log shed that split in two:blushing:
  6. I'll try and get a better picture but my phone camera is a bit rubbish
  7. Hi all I've been going to give turning a go for about 3 years This is try 2 and 4 First is a bit of floor joist from a mates unit and the second is from an old sleeper

About

Arbtalk.co.uk is a hub for the arboriculture industry in the UK.
If you're just starting out and you need business, equipment, tech or training support you're in the right place.  If you've done it, made it, got a van load of oily t-shirts and have decided to give something back by sharing your knowledge or wisdom,  then you're welcome too.
If you would like to contribute to making this industry more effective and safe then welcome.
Just like a living tree, it'll always be a work in progress.
Please have a look around, sign up, share and contribute the best you have.
