I got and st6 2 years ago and have found redwood fantastic to deal with. Changed the 6 to an 8 3 months ago and will stick with forst.

I bought a new tr6, had a problem with electronic control unit but first sent engineer out to replace the unit, being fine ever since.

I seem to fund the blades awkward to change over and a bit fiddly, other than that not a bad machine.

Yeah a couple, I think the early machines suffered poor paint and build quality, some things over tightened some not tight enough, my machine had the hydraulic pump belt tentioned to tight and sagged the pump, was sorted next day no quibble at all, think they have got there quality control sorted now as my st8 is an animal.

Just had mine (TR6) over 2 years and 271 hrs on the clock, had a few probs with it over the time I have owned it, pretty much what everyone else has experienced, issues with electrics, feed roller shafts shearing both top and bottom, hydraulic oil running out the filler neck/cap when the machine used for long periods and rollers jamming open, but they have been fixed/cured almost immediately by my service centre with either them coming out or taking the machine to them, basically an excellent service which definitely gave me piece of mind.

 

However the week before last, at the end of the day my machine let go big time. It sent pieces of blades and bearings everywhere even through the Shute ! ... It was lucky we were chipping into the side of a woodland as I would hate to think what damage the flying shrapnel could of done in a more public place...😱

In the above instance incorrect parts were fitted to the machine which caused the failure. These were not parts supplied by Redwood but by a third party. However Redwood are working with the good customer to help rectify this issue and have loaned him a machine to keep him working whilst the repair is carried out. We are a company loyal to our customers and will go the extra mile to help

Hi all new to the forum owned a tr6 now for 5 year very low hours as landscaping side bit busier then the tree side tr6 is out of warranty any how last week started spitting the branch - log back out while your feeding it then got to press the green button for forward again cleaned all sensors looked at all wiring hydraulic fluid it ok all greased up any one surgust any thing thanks in advance

I would speak to forst John as they'll know the machines and problems better than any. 

I've had a tr6 going on 4 years now and it's been a cracking machine. 

Crimps have gone on the tracking cables and it was tracking more one way than the other but all sorted quick and without an issue.
