Not sure to be honest, we looked at electric ones but we don't have 3 phase electric here. It's costing us around £1 a ton of wood in diesel so the saving wouldn't be much anyway and then there's the issue of moving the processor, it's much easier to move to a clean spot than shovel the bark and sawdust all the time.

 

Admittedly the processor weighs around 1200kg so that tractor just takes the weight off a bit then drags it.

Nothing is it! Very good machines! Would you say it's cheaper to run a pto powered processor or an electric one?

 

Hi probably cheaper on electric but you need 3 phase which not everyone has .

Also if you go pto you can move the machine to where you want or hire yourself out,as usual it is a case of what suits you best.

Like the website and your setup Chris! The only thing I would say is to take your BSL number off the website. We have had people giving our BSL number when imputing their periodic data without actually buying anything from us!

Just a small picky point about the site i cant really read the text over the image with the wood stack in the background - about the source. even on rollover - change the text to black and it will be fine You may also need to darken the overlay too.

That used to be the case. I have reluctantly had to buy in Ash and Sycamore the past few years to keep the tonnage up. My preference is Beech. Any time your passing though, you're more than welcome to pop in for a coffee. (Or a beer, depending on what time it is)
