I don't bother but then my wife has a better paying job than me😀

So if I was to be sidelined for any reason the bills would still be paid.

I can see why people would have it though! But £66 a month seems a lot

I run my own small set up & got diagnosed in April with Leukaemia, I wish I had taken out income protection insurance as all I'm entitled to is £80 a week From my NI contribution now. Well worth looking into guys, you always think it happens to someone else until it becomes real!

What's the small print like on these policies? I am often worried they'll try and wriggle out of anything other that a limited preset list of serious ailments/illnesses.

Sorry to hear about this, wish you all the best for the future buddy.

I looked into it a few times but they would not cover me for any reoccurring injuries that i had been to the doctors with, since I've had loads of injuries through the years i figured that if i was going to be off for a while it would probably be an old injury rearing its head, so i never bothered. Although the parting comment from the salesman was "lets hope you don't get cancer" in his best sarcastic voice, charming i thought

Im still not convinced i should not have one but have never got round to getting one. As for not paying the mortgage don't you all have savings for that eventuality?
