The Beranek book would be your best bet if your serious , whilst the climbers companion is essential reading and small enough to be taken on site to copy knots ect every thing in general tree work book is covered from climbing and Felling to dragging brash and clearing up !

 

 

My in laws bought me this for my birthday. It's one of my favourite books ever. Very useful read.

Tree kit in the U.K. Sell it , also tree stuff in America will ship you out a copy... I've ordered from both as gifts for friends.

This is a long interview but i have so much respect for Beranek I found it easily watchable... Can't wait for August to make part 2 !!

that was a great video - always the way chance plays a part in everything, with his mum forgeting to tell him of his job in the engineering plant

 

I think he was very wise to chain that big top up, so much force there before the hinge goes, rather him than me. 50 foot fliplines!

True , best tree men I've Met are the ones who have fallen in to this work, I doubt they ever woke up and thought I want to be a tree worker today and went out to look for a job.

Would his book still be realavent to modern day climbing? Should imagine the knots etc. haven't changed but it's worth checking!?

There will be plenty for anyone to take away from that book, even if it doesn't cover the latest srt techniques etc
