Refurbished chippers

Been looking for a chipper around the 7-10k mark, and have come across a couple of decent looking refurbished chippers on e-arborist. They don't have the hours on the clock (guessing because that gets wiped).

My question is to what level are these chippers refurbished usually?

And are they maybe something to avoid? Don't want to throw 10k and a bag of spanners and regret it.

Anybody got any input or anyone got a refurb, any issues?

I was told that jensen chippers are refurbished quite often because there paint tends to age quite quickly, which is quite inkeeping with the fact that most refurbished chippers i have found are jensens.

Keep saving and add to your 10k....and get a new on with warranty. 10k a lot to risk on anything without long term warranty and or viable company.just what I would do if had 10k. To spend on a chipper.

Definetly this. Or chuck the 10k down as deposit and get 0% finance on the remainder. assuming you're looking at a 6" machine it will be pennies per month.

Don't do it. I had a refurbished Jensen, It looked great but was a bag of nails.. better buy an honest second hand machine, with a few hours on it...

I would but it's taken a long time to get the cash together, don't fancy another 2 years saving and I am looking to set up my business in the spring. Don't fancy finance either as I know money isn't likely to roll in quick in the first year or two so don't fancy the worry of debt.

Yeah it seems to be jensens that have the refurb stamp.

get a proper unbiased inspection done and a test drive to see any potential problems if your unsure just because its second hand aint necessarily a bad thing even new chippers fall to bits
