By older Ranger, i take it you mean from 07-11.

I tow every day with either an 08 or 09 plate Ranger . One thing I always do is when reversing or driving off a hard surface is put it into the low box.Its much easier as they are quite high geared,so you are not so inclined to sit on the clutch.

Some folk tow with a vehicle with no consideration to either it or the trailer, this I think is the cause of most problems/breakages.

Give a vehicle time to pick up speed and to slow down while towing and it is a lot easier on your outfit and fuel economy.

Out of 8 Rangers that we use there are very few breakdowns,if any.Rear springs like any were replaced and brake pipes after about 6 years started needing replaced.

These are used daily and while not being as good as a landrover off road,no pickup is.The reliability far outweighs any dissadvantage

The new style dad drives is better according to him but that's not to say the old one was bad as he only changed due to being involved in a motorway crash which wrote the old one off!

That's what I was thinking! Maybe had a hair cut.

However it has 2 previous owners. First one lived on a farm and owned it until 2006. Second owner also a farm boy.

I have never seen so much service history with a vehicle. Never the less.... It drives and tips well.

What's it worth?

Its a 3k truck with a 2K body on the back so its 5K + all day long, I like it.

That proves my point. They aren't bad for the actual work they can do but they are uncomfortable, rattle like mad and are forever broken down.

But when they are working they won't get stuck😀😀
