I think the wall was staying and they were building an internal wall as well, dont ask me why, i never asked.

Sorry for the late answer. The Trango Cinch is about 50/60 pounds sterling ( or ask on here for a second hand one ) the rope is usually 10.5 mm dynamic . I use Beal Dynastat rope which conforms to 2 standards, both the semi-static and the dynamic rope standards. I use this set up for spruces and firs and usually when only the stem/trunk is left.

 

You don't really need it , but it works for me. And where I live there's usually a lot firs to fell.

thats because on the day previous, we had taken a pine down, it was the one the fixed bollard was tied to. So we had some time at the end of the day to strip the ivy from the stem, just speed things up the next day.
