Where the beds are placed was the old swimming pool (disused) so the ground had to be made up first and compacted before the beds could be lifted into place. Approx 4tons of soil per bed.

Forgot to say that this is my sons project, he is the landscape designer, I'm on site carrying out remedial tree work, helping with placing the raised beds, and generally making sure things go to plan. The beds will have an assortment of ornamental grassy stuff and flowery things chucked in in some sort of order, another bed will be herbally things, all on a theme I believe. The excavation of the pond is nearing completion now, only about 60 ton more stuff to move, then it will be prepared for the liner.

Looks a nice job so far, You must be a proud dad does he boss you around when you work for him:biggrin:

Not yet!! He takes on board advice, learning things at college on paper is one thing, but dealing with a client, arranging different trades to be on site at the right time is something that comes with experience, I'm just guiding him on these points, he has to be making the final decisions, right or wrong.
