just found this on youtube it is an old video but it slightly worrying that fire brigade dont seem to tree to deal or know of best practice surrounding tree work.

 

 

Hi SKY it's okay for those idiots to film the fireman doing there JOB Instead of them taking the Mickey out of the fireman why not get out there and try and help them thanks John

Excactly right Jon boy, how much time should be spent training firemen to cut down trees rather than saving lives? The worrying part of it for me was the likelihood that the knobs filming the vid will probably be running the country in a few years, they will be as out of touch as the OP.

Hi MULL it ok idiots to make a video then stick it on YouTube then just take the Mickey out of the Fire service or the police or the ambulance service instead of taking the Mickey out of her get out there and help them what a waste of time then people are taking the video thanks John

To be fair, I can see why OP posted vid, it is slightly painful to watch, but not their fault.

 

Hi MULL that video was taken back in the very high winds so all the emergency services was it full stretch there are no trees surgeons around they they were all running around doing their jobs emergency work God makes you sick there's people that can take the Mickey like that thanks John

Yes Jon, I'm a volunteer in our wee fire fire service, not seen any chainsaws in our kit lately, how any ARB guys go out and chop down a tree with an axe nowadays? Don't imagine it's that many.

If your axe is like ours was, it wouldn't matter which way round you used it. That was till I took a file to it, now I can shave with it before drill night
