unusual timber samples needed can you help?

I have some elder (Sambucus nigra) about 10" dia but apparently all sapwood. Also blackthorn does not appear on the list and I may be able to get hold of some common hawthorn.

 

those three species would be great, blackthorn is listed as a species i want but i lumped it under prunus species...

 

either way i'd love all three, what sizes are the blackthorn and hawthorn???

Iam not sure what species it is but it's got A different heartwood colour

doesn't mean it's a different species...

 

beech can have what's called redheart which is just a coloration of the heartwood in either red or brownish hues.

Yes the heart was that configuration but the heart was green but maybe that was owing to it being branchwood I will find that tree again and get a section and post a photo

The hawthorn is about 5" dia, the blackthorn about 3.5".

Hi, I have a bit of lilac, it's not very big though. I have a piece that's around 20 inches x 3.5 inches the other piece is the same length and slightly wider.

Let me know if they're any good.

thanks for the offer but he has those species already and they are a bit on the skinny side.
