Im having a problem with my ms 200t its running rich at the moment but cuts very well through big bits of wood but when you turn it down it seems to loose all power.

Ive got it stripped down at the moment to put a new set of piston rings and crank seals in it, is there any thing else any one can think that i should do wile i have it stripped down or that will sort out the problem of it running rich???

could it be some thing to do with the carburetor????:confused1:

and does any one have a parts list for the saw mine when when my external hard drive died :blushing:

If it is still running rich after a carb kit then look at the air filter for restriction. The carb high and low speed mixture adjustment settings(screws) may require retuning.By the way,its not overly oily is it,as in too much two stroke oil? Somtimes the spark arrester guaze in the muffler carbons up as well, lol

Just got this problem with my 200 it wont idle and as soon as you rev it it bogs down unless you gently rev it then it will reach full revs tried another carb no difference compression is fine no internal bore damage.

???

get the make and model no of the carb and phone Stihl ,ask to speak Greham and give him the carm model no and name he will tell you if the carb is one of the dodgy ones and if so they should replace it for free , i had exactly the same problem with 3 of my stihl ms200T'S
