Yes it has thicker plastic, also a little strengthening bit and apparently it's a different compound of plastic.

 

 

 

As a shameless plug we have them for sale on the web site if you get stuck trying to source one. Just make sure it is the latest part from whoever you buy it from. I will post the part number up later on when I'm back on the pc.

Husqvarna T540XP Cylinder Cover 516 03 46-01

 

The difference in part numbers is the old one has 01 not 02 at the end.

 

It is a bit of a job as you need to remove fuel tank/handle, carb and intake pipe among other things. Worth checking the impulse pipe and brass fitting that the pipe plugs into while your there, it is the very small pipe next to the intake pipe.

 

I have just checked and only have two in stock but it looks like husky have loads in stock.
