I think most people prefer the MS361 to the 357xp, which would be happy on an 18" bar which I missed and rules out a 260 and in fact anything I just recommended!! Very hard to find a 361 in good condition though...

 

i have both, both on a 18'' .325. both are excellent, but i don't know which prefer. the husky seems to be coming out to play more more lately.

When it goes wrong you will be wishing you hadn't bought it due to spares prices and availability.

 

I prefer the 357 over the 361.

Been looking at the efco 156 that looks a lot of saw for the money and light.

 

sounds good, reckon steven hornby would sort you out good for one of these.

There are at least two online Efco spares retailers; I've never had any trouble getting parts for any Efco/Oleo saws, not found the parts expensive. Certainly no more expensive than Stihl or Husky.

 

The 156 is ace. It's like a 254xp.

Wait til you need certain things. Had issues getting efco parts for strimmers and mowers. Some of there smaller stuff even use plastic bodied carbs.

My local Radmores are efco dealers so are abbey garden sales but rarely keep anything much in stock and several weeks to get when available. No experience on there chainsaws tho.

I had a oleo Mac saw years ago and found it really nicely balanced and a good performer.

Harrythecat, I would imagine . Haven't found anybody with a bad word to say about him. He is also a member on here.

We are probably not the cheapest on Ebay but we do know exactly where we had each saw from and will stand by what we sell.We work on the principle that the enviroment and council saws will have done far less work than a tree surgeons model and if you buy direct off them , it is guaranteed not stolen. Why should anyone on this forum ever risk buying a stolen saw as it only supports the scumbag who has stolen a tree surgeons tools he earns his living with and encourage them to steal more.

In our experience the MS280 was an oddball with parts fairly unique to itself

and best avoided.

Our choice would be an Enviroment 346XPG silver side or 357XPG with a 15inch .325 bar
