My steel carabiniers less than 6months old have failed loler due to twist lock not returning they have been cleaned oiled .there is still some dirt in the mechanism but the spring should be strong enough to handle this like my older ones. Is anybody else having the same problems with new carabiniers

Graphite grease works well for us, it's a black dust that bits don't stick to like oil etc.

Grease or powder?

Grease will gum the mechanism up, graphite powder is the better option
