I do as Treequip does. Wash rope without a pillowcase at 40 degrees and it spins out most of the moisture so it can be used immediately after washing.

The pillow case thing is to stop direct contact with the drum birch does get hot

I would always suggest the proper rope wash sold by most good arb supplies

Less than 50 per wash

 

The drum is only as hot as the water and that's only as hot as you turn the dial
