Sorry I'm sure it's been covered before and yes I've used the search button but can anyone recommend a small splitter with its own power unit.

We're struggling to give away our wood so instead of paying over £50 to tip a trannie load we've scrounged a bit of field and are going to split a few for our regular customers.

Budgets about a grand and won't need to be mega powerful as the knotty stuff will still get dumped.

Thanks

Ace is best on clean straight stuff the rock machinery 22t machine will split anything you care to put under it, I used it a few weeks back and was very impressed made all those horrible knotty bits and unions viable firewood.

If you are going to ditch the knotty stuff, then i would suggest a decent axe like a gransfor or x19. It will be far quicker and much more satisfying.

I'd rather be on a splitter than an axe all day tbh. The novelty of an axe soon wears off
