Cutting out when hot any ideas?

It will be electronic ignition with a cdi module (£43 from McCulloch) so it will not have a condenser. Doubtful if it will be that if you have a spark.

Some times it will spark in fresh air ( earthed against the cylinder ) but not under compression if the cdi is faulty .

I have a Husqvarna 135 similar saw and I bought a splined driver for about £6. It's hardly sneak tactics you can adjust them with a Biro stem or an electrical connector on the end of a flat screwdriver or take the screws out and cut a slot in them.

But to be fair, the splined adjusters fit neatly and snugly on the screws, which means they don't keep vibrating off at WOT, making tuning a doddle.

They are easily obtainable, so as you said, nothing sneaky. Just very practical.

The splined tool never arrived today in the post so rather than try to make something fit I just stuck it into the local chainsaw man so he can have a look, no point in me guessing what the fault might be & ordering parts it might not need i'll let him tell me what it needs! Will find out tomorrow & let you know..::cheers for all the input so far.
