That's because yours is a 4 wheeler. The rollers are single speed.

I have a brand new 2016 model Wetwang 48cm roller with electric start at 25% discount, so only £750 for anyone seeking a bargain.

I wonder why the roller Kaaz pro version only has a single speed ....are they a bit higher geared do you suppose ?

Not my area of expertise at all, but isn't a roller mower more suited to very regular mowing, and therefore more regular and predictable crop flow, whereas a wheeled model can have greater height adjustment to be able to deal with a greater variety of circumstances, hence more speed options?

Sure...i to figure the roller mower will spend its time on a lawn that someone likes stripes on and the 4 wheeler can do some rough cutting as well as the lawn grass. I just wonder if the roller has a "in between" speed of the wheeled version. 1st on the 4 wheeler is slow and 2nd is fairly brisk.

The roller versions are single speed because of the more compact gearbox which sits between the two halves of the the roller.

They used to be a little too slow for contactors but a higher speed box was introduced a couple of years ago on the 'pro' model giving it a speed only a little less than the 4 wheeler.

Gardenkit how do you tell old model weibang roller mowerd to the new.

Youd said that some mechanical problems had existed in older models

To be quite honest I am not really sure. Although I have one in the showroom (by accident!) its not a product range that I have taken on although I know the company well.

I think anything of 2015 MY and onwards will be OK though.
